LICENSING AND USE OF FIREARMS Every Full Member is required to produce to the Honorary Treasurer a valid firearms license for every firearm in his possession, before receiving his annual membership photo-card. Such firearm make, calibre, serial number and license number is to be recorded in the firearms register. Every member will be required to participate in not less than three (3) scheduled shoots during each half of the ensuing year. Failure to comply with this requirement, Council shall instruct the Honorary Secretary to notify such member, that his membership has been relegated to that of a Non-shooting member. All such firearms in his possession shall be handed over, within fourteen (14) days from the date of such letter, for safe keeping, to the Barbados Defence Force, the Royal Barbados Police Force or an authorized Gun Dealer. A copy of this letter shall be forwarded simultaneously to the Commissioner of Police. The Council of the Association reserves the right to waive the foregoing on receipt of a satisfactory explanation, in writing, given by such member to the Honorary Secretary, prior to the end of such calendar year. Should a member be desirous of resuming active membership, the Honorary Secretary shall deliver to such member a letter to this effect, including a request that such firearms be released to such member. The Range Officer reserves the right to call on any member to produce his membership photo- card and valid firearms license prior to or during any shoot. In default, the member may be suspended from any such shoot. No unlicensed firearm is permitted on the ranges or premises of the Association. Breech of this rule may render such member liable to expulsion from the Association. |
