ELECTION OF MEMBERS (continued)

4. Service Member 
All active serving members of the Barbados Defence Force, (excluding non-commissioned ranks of the Barbados Cadet Corps), and The Royal Barbados Police Force shall be exempt from payment of an entrance fee. The annual subscription is payable in advance on the first working day in January of each year, or upon election, the proportionate part thereof.

Service members shall enjoy all the privileges of Full Members, shall not be subject to a probationary period or submission of a certificate of character from the Police on application for membership.

5. Temporary Member
The name and address of any person being proposed and seconded for membership of the Association shall be posted and remain on the Association's notice board for one month, after which the application will be processed by the Council. The applicant may be admitted by
the Council, as a Temporary member for a period of not less than six months. Such member shall have no voice in the affairs of the Association.

Any Temporary member may subsequently be considered for a full
membership.

6. Junior Member
Non-commissioned ranks of the Barbados Cadet Corps and children between the ages of twelve (12) and sixteen (16) years may be admitted to membership of the Association, and shall be exempt from the payment of an entrance fee. The annual subscription shall be payable in advance on the first working day in January of each year, or upon election, the proportionate part thereof. Such member shall have no voice in the management of the affairs of the Association.

Children between the ages of twelve (12) and fourteen (14) years will be limited to Air Weapons and/or .22 calibre Target Weapons. Children between the ages of fifteen (15) and sixteen (16) years, may, at the discretion of the Council, be permitted to participate in full-bore target shooting. At all times such Junior Members shall be under the supervision of an Instructor appointed by Council, and shall not discharge any weapon on the ranges of the Association, unless such Instructor is present. Failure to comply with these requirements may render such member liable to expulsion in accordance with Rule-13.

All weapons supplied by the Association must be returned immediately on the completion of any shoot to the Range Officer or Instructor. They must be cleaned and oiled, and any parts missing must be returned prior to further participation in any shoot by such member.

All ammunition must be purchased through the Association and all unexpended rounds must be handed over to the Range Officer for safekeeping. See Rule21 (9).
All other matters not specifically dealt with under Junior Membership, the Rules and Regulations of the Barbados Rife Association shall apply.

7. Visiting Member
Visitors may be admitted by the Council for a period not exceeding one month. Every member shall be allowed to introduce visitors as his guests and accompany such guests throughout their stay. All visitors and introducing members shall sign the visitors’ book. The Council shall, on admitting a visiting member, state whether such member may be permitted to participate in the shooting activities of the Association.

8. Proficiency Training Member
Bona fide licensed firearm holders, or applicants for firearm licenses, as directed by the Commissioner of Police, may be granted Proficiency Training Membership of the Association for such period and for such fee as directed by Council. During such period of membership the trainee shall receive instruction in basic safety and proficiency with the firearm, and the instruction provided shall be such as to render the trainee proficient in the use of the firearm.

9. Non-Shooting Member

Members may be elected by the Council as Non-Shooting members. Such member shall have no voice in the management of the affairs of the Association.
